For reasons unknown to us, there are people out there who think it’s okay to neglect, abuse and kill dogs. A bad person decided to tie two dogs to a fence outside a rescue center in Jackson, Mississippi, using barbed wire.
The dogs were petrified and screamed in pain as the wire cut deeply into one of the dog’s legs.
Fortunately, an Animal Rescue Fund employee named Pippa Jackson discovered the poor puppies the next morning and quickly took pictures to document the abuse. She then released them and posted the photos on Facebook to share her disgust.
Jackson and rescue colleagues took the dogs to emergency veterinary care at Northside Pet Clinic. Both are doing well and are currently on antibiotics. Fortunately, the puppy with the deep leg wound is expected to heal well and not need amputation.
Once their wounds have healed more, they will be placed in temporary homes before finding their homes forever.
This was a meaningless act that could have been avoided. While leaving dogs at a rescue door without notifying them is not suggested, it would still be better than tying these poor dogs.
Pippa Jackson says his surveillance cameras captured a policeman driving while the person was tying the dogs to the fence, but there are currently no suspects in custody.
